About the Role
The Senior Support Worker supports participants with complex trauma and psycho-social needs. You’ll work closely with the Service Leader to keep day-to-day operations running smoothly and ensure high-quality, person-centred support.
You’ll guide the team through role modelling, coaching and supervision, while working with external care teams and families to help participants build daily living skills, engage in community, and improve their overall wellbeing.
Work closely with the Service Leader to manage daily operations in our Vertical Village
Provide support with daily living skills and community activities (housekeeping, personal hygiene, medication support, transport)
Stay across participant needs, care plans and any updates
Promote community inclusion and support participants to build relationships and interests
Work AM and PM shifts on a rotating roster (including weekends and public holidays)
Work with clinical teams, complete required training, and follow all treatment plans
Provide guidance, coaching and support to mental health support workers
About You
Minimum 3 years’ experience supporting people with complex mental health needs
Minimum Diploma in Disability, Mental health, or other related fields
Previous experience in coaching or mentoring support workers is highly desirable
Passion for helping participants engage in meaningful and community-based activities
Strong understanding of professional boundaries and restrictive practices
Able to set priorities, manage time, and work under pressure with minimal supervision
Effective written and verbal communication, including clear case notes
Strong interpersonal skills to work both autonomously and within a diverse team
