About the Role
The Disability Support Worker will provide support with people living with complex trauma, high challenging behaviors, and/or high physical /clinical to align with their individual program plan.
Working with external care teams and families, the role is responsible for providing high-quality, responsive, and person-centered support to assist participants enhance their everyday living skills, gain access and participation in community to achieve their goals, enhance their quality of life and physical and mental health.
Supporting clients with personal care, community access, and daily routines
Working in participants’ homes or in our purpose-built Vertical Villages (SIL/SDA)
Managing complex needs including behaviours of concern, trauma, forensic backgrounds, and high clinical needs
Administering medication and following detailed health support plans
Implementing behaviour support plans and using de-escalation techniques
Providing meaningful, person-centred care to NDIS participants
Collaborating with clinicians, case workers, and families
About You
You will thrive and succeed in our team by bringing the following experience to this position:
Minimum of 6 months' experience in disability, aged care, mental health, or related fields
Certificate III/IV/ Individual Support, Aged Care, or similar (preferred)
Demonstrated experience with high physical and clinical needs, including medication administration
Strong understanding of professional boundaries, restrictive practices, and behaviour support
Effective written and verbal communication, including clear case note writing
Able to set priorities, meet deadlines, and work under pressure with minimal supervision
Strong interpersonal skills to work both autonomously and as part of a team
NDIS Worker Screening, First Aid, Driver’s Licence, and insured vehicle
